Michael Clarke Stunning little collection of 80s sci fi synth pop tunes. definitely feeling Bladerunner, Ghost in the Shell, Wolf Among Us vibes from this. I think the world needs more Bei Vayne in its life. Varsity Jackets, Sunglasses and fingerless driving gloves and Manga for the win. Favorite track: Two moons fall, three suns rise.

about

In 1981 Bei Vayne was a rising star in the burgeoning European synth pop scene. He annoyed the synth purists by always performing front and centre with a white Hohner flying V guitar. Although many of Bei's lead lines were played on the guitar he initially wore it as a prop. Bei described standing behind a multi tiered keyboard stand as like wearing an industrial strength chastity belt. Much better to swing that 6 stringed dick around. One electronic music peer, that became a bitter rival, was Ian Glorious. Whilst most of their rivalry was confined to catty remarks and trying to out dress each other it escalated to the point that knives were drawn in the Hamburg night club, Cellophane Halo, and both received life bans for the fracas. It was shortly after this incident, and while still in negotiations with Hansa records for his debut album contract, Bei had his life changing accident. Whilst riding the Wuppertal monorail his carriage was struck with lightening and the alternating negative and positive charges of the electric rail and lightening turned the car into a Tesla Coil. Bei survived but was in a coma that lasted 30 years. When he awoke Bei described time as now moving in slow motion, like he existed in a parallel universe with different universal laws. Ian Glorious was at his bedside, rivalry forgotten, with a new purpose to aid Bei's recovery. To express the distorted sense of time that Bei now experienced the two artists decided to record a song in one day, play it once at a club the same evening, and then destroy it so it could never be heard again. The resulting work was a glorious romo club classic called 'So red the rouge' which was released under the band name of VayneGlorious.

Since then Bei has been constructing his debut album and with his unique perception of time and space it has taken him 10 years to complete. All cuts are performed by Bei except for 'Atlantis Meadow' a co write with ex Hollywood nineties romo darling Hanna Edgren who also performs the vocal. When asked what his future plans are Bei replied “The Tesla coil accelerated me to the future and now I am travelling to the past while all around are stuck in a present therefore 'future plans' is a phrase that has no logical meaning to me any more. I am looking forward to Christmas though.”
